Psoriatic arthritis (PsA) is a heterogeneous chronic inflammatory disease associated with psoriasis. Manifestations can include peripheral/axial arthritis, enthesitis, dactylitis, and nail disease. The joint involvement and structural damage caused by PsA lead to significantly lower health-related quality of life for affected patients. While a definitive etiology remains unclear, several genetic, epigenetic, and environmental factors seem to contribute to its autoimmune activation.
