Prostate cancer (PCa) is the most commonly diagnosed cancer in males in the United States and the second most common cause of cancer deaths. Worldwide, it is the second most common cancer and the fifth leading cause of cancer death in males. Acinar adenocarcinoma is the most common type of PCa, with intraductal carcinoma and neuroendocrine carcinoma comprising most remaining cases.
Current diagnostic methods for PCa have low sensitivity and low positive predictive values, leading to missed diagnoses, unnecessary biopsies, and overtreatment. In recent years, molecular and biomarker analysis has been introduced to improve risk stratification and patient management.
How much do you know about molecular and biomarker analysis in PCa? Test your knowledge with this quick quiz.
